Here's a really nice VFX breakdown of some of the simulation sails, ropes, flags and other moving items we did at Digital Domain, Playa del Rey and Reliance Mediaworks, Burbank last year for Black Sails, Season 2. It was a lotta work, but I think the results were worth it!

Working with Erik Henry and George Murphy on this was a wonderful experience. The artistry and level of professionalism on this show was outstanding. They both are such kind and thoughtful managers -- helping you get the work looking as detailed and beautiful as possible, with a nurturing influence that helps achieve your best work. Can't say enough great things about these guys -- and the whole crew for that matter. I'm very proud of our work on this show.... and I'm really looking forward to Season 3. I recently had a wonderful time doing a tutorial for Digital Tutors, the premiere site for learning CG and related disciplines. This lesson illustrates the basics of creating costume setups for a studio production environment. Click on the orange button below, if you'd like to check it out. (And if you do watch it, I would love to hear any feedback you have about it..) This was such a great experience that I'll probably be doing more of these in the near future. |
